Reverend Jack Weddings

For nearly 20 years, I have been performing weddings for couples entering their first, second, sometimes third marriages. I was ordained in the Progressive Universal Life Church in 2000, and Universal Life Church in 2015. 

Some couples have fallen away from religions in which they were raised. Some couples are of mixed traditions, some from non-traditional circumstances. Others are seeking answers to the meaning of life and are open to new possibilities.

In the course of my wedding ministry, there have been couples who have had concrete visions of what their ceremonies should look like. Others have had loose ideas. Many couples have had no idea as to what they’ve wanted in a wedding ceremony. When you come to me, amongst us, we will create a ceremony that is memorable and meaningful to you. 

The Ceremony

A basic simple ceremony within 20 miles of Boston will cost $250.00. A $50.00 non-refundable deposit is required when a date is set.

It will include-

  • A 40 minute consultation to plan the ceremony and to council the couple
  • Preparation and approval of the elements of the ceremony
  • Rehearsal
  • A ceremony lasting up to 20 minutes
  • A follow consultation with the couple about six weeks after the ceremony

A typical ceremony might consist of, but not limited to

  • Calling the couple to the Ceremonial Space and greeting the guests
  • An invocation to call a Spiritual Presence and to bless the ceremony
  • A brief explanation of marriage with spiritual, religious, or literary references
  • One or more readings of significance to the couple
  • Vows
  • A coupling service
    • Rings
    • Hand-fasting
    • Candle ceremony
    • Other symbolic service
    • A combination of services
  • A blessing on the new couple
  • A pronouncement of the new union
  • An introduction of the new couple to attending guests and to the world

Additional costs may be incurred for greater distances, atypical research, writing, or preparation, purchase of special elements for the ceremony.
